Aspeq, in partnership with the Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) and the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board (PGDB), welcomed 17 Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to Wellington for a highly successful workshop focused on collaboration, professional development, and assessment excellence.

The workshop brought together SMEs from across the electrical, plumbing, gasfitting, and drainlaying industries to share their expertise, strengthen their understanding of SME procedures, and contribute to the ongoing quality of EWRB and PGDB assessments. It also provided an invaluable opportunity for participants to meet colleagues from similar industries, exchange ideas, and learn from one another’s experiences.
Throughout the workshop, the level of engagement was exceptional. One of the standout moments of the event was the dinner held at the Wellington Waterfront. In a relaxed and informal setting, participants had the opportunity to continue conversations, strengthen professional relationships, and get to know one another beyond the workshop environment. The evening was filled with great conversation, plenty of laughter, and good-natured banter, reflecting the strong sense of camaraderie within the SME community.
The positive atmosphere continued throughout the workshop, with attendees openly sharing ideas, asking questions, and discussing industry trends and challenges. Many participants commented on how informative they found the sessions and appreciated the opportunity to revisit key SME procedures and responsibilities.
