Aspeq recognises outstanding flight instruction at the Massey University School of Aviation Wings Ceremony
Earning your wings is one of the defining moments in a pilot’s career, and last week we were proud to be part of it.
Paul Kearney and Hamish Findlay represented Aspeq at the Massey University School of Aviation Wings Ceremony for the M83 Cohort. The ceremony marks a major milestone for Bachelor of Aviation students as they complete the flight-training component of their programme, having achieved their Commercial Pilot Licence and multi-engine instrument rating. It also includes the presentation of a number of aviation industry awards.
Hamish had the honour of presenting the Aspeq Flight Instruction Award to Louis Hancock. The award recognises an outstanding contribution to flight instruction at Massey, particularly the leadership, motivation and mentoring that help prepare student pilots for careers as professional aviators.
Great instructors do more than teach students to fly. They shape the habits, judgement and professionalism that stay with a pilot for life. That is why we value the chance to recognise the people who set that standard, and why high-quality flight instruction is so important to the future of aviation in New Zealand.
Congratulations to Louis on the award, and to every member of the M83 cohort. We look forward to seeing where your careers take you.
