Aspeq is delighted to renew its sponsorship of the Young Eagles 2025 Scholarship Programme, continuing its commitment to fostering the next generation of aviators in New Zealand. This annual initiative, has been instrumental in inspiring and supporting young aviation enthusiasts across the country.

Championing Aspiring Aviators
The Ross Macpherson Memorial Scholarships honour the legacy of Ross Macpherson, a passionate aviation advocate. His generosity established a fund that has enabled countless Young Eagles to achieve significant milestones in their flying journeys.

In 2025, Aspeq joins other key industry partners, including Gallagher Insurance, Airways NZ, and the Civil Aviation Authority, in funding these scholarships. This collective effort underscores a shared dedication to empowering young talent and ensuring the future of aviation remains bright.

Josh Black, the Scholarship Coordinator for Flying NZ, highlighted the programme’s impact: “Our 2024 winners have achieved great things, with several completing their first solo flights and even passing their PPL exams. We’re excited to build on this success and encourage even more aspiring aviators to apply.”

The 2024 scholarship recipients—Cameron Moffat, Elijah King, Josh Keenan, Max Oke, and Tomas Brokhals—represent the passion, dedication, and talent that the programme seeks to nurture.

Flying NZ, established over 80 years ago, remains dedicated to fostering excellence in recreational aviation. With 44 affiliated aero clubs and over 3,500 members, its initiatives, including the Young Eagles programme, play a pivotal role in building a vibrant and inclusive aviation community.
